We keep college affordable for you!  Financial assistance is one of the ways we help keep college within the reach of students from all walks of life.  In fact, the vast majority (82 percent) of our students receive some form of financial assistance.  We offer all federal grant and loan programs and we award hundreds of Western Iowa Tech grants and scholarships every year.

For government options go to www.fafsa.ed.gov and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.  Western Iowa Tech’s code number is 004590.  This document will tell us what federal financial aid options you can pursue.

Government grants also provide special funding for selected programs at Western Iowa Tech.  Career Accounts covering the full cost of tuition, fees and books are offered for students pursuing training in the fast growing fields of renewable energy production or high-tech boiler operations.  Career Accounts are also available to cover the cost of any short-term training program that incorporates “green certification” into the training curriculum.

WITCC grants and scholarships are awarded on a wide range of criteria.  Some are based on academic excellence, some are based on financial need, and others are based on individual circumstances.  There are even program-dedicated scholarships for students pursuing specific careers.  These scholarships are generally “stackable” (able to be added together) and can constitute a very sizeable financial package.  Go to www.witcc.edu/financial_aid to learn more about the scholarships we offer and complete the scholarship application online.

Tuition Payment Plan
We offer a convenient automatic payment plan.  This is not a loan but a way you can budget your tuition and fees by automatic monthly account withdrawal or with a credit card.  You have no debt and there are no interest or finance charges assessed.  The cost to enroll is $25 per semester.

Employer Tuition Reimbursement
Tuition reimbursement is a valuable benefit many companies now offer.  More and more companies realize tuition reimbursement is an effective way to recruit and retain good employees.  Check with your supervisor or human resources department to see if your company can help pay for college.
